Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, is set to do something big again. His upcoming film, “King,” has already made headlines, with fans shocked by its budget.
According to reports, the film’s total budget is around ₹350 crore, not including promotion and marketing costs. Previously, SRK’s “Pathaan” was made on a budget of ₹250 crore, meaning “King” has surpassed it.
How ‘King’ Became India’s Biggest Action Film
The film was initially conceived as a small action thriller, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, with a budget of around ₹150 crore. However, when Siddharth Anand joined, the scale and vision of the story completely changed.
He presented SRK with an action universe never before seen in India. Shah Rukh immediately approved this grand vision and tripled the film’s budget.

Massive Action Sequences & Global Appeal
‘King’ will feature a total of six major action sequences, three shot on real locations abroad and three on large sets. Each scene is designed to push the boundaries of Indian action cinema.
Cast & Release Details
Shah Rukh Khan will star in the film alongside Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan (villain role), and Deepika Padukone. Gauri Khan and Mamta Anand produce the film. The film will be released in 2026 and is being called a “global film made in India”.
