The year 2025 is proving to be a highly successful year for German luxury car manufacturer BMW Group India. The company recorded its highest sales ever in the third quarter (July to September). During this period, BMW sold a total of 4,204 cars, representing a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. According to the company, the implementation of GST 2.0 and increased demand during the festive season played a major role in this growth.
GST 2.0 and the festive season provided a boost
Hardeep Singh Brar, Chairman and CEO of BMW Group India, stated that the company’s sales this year were much better than expected. He said that due to tax cuts under GST 2.0 and festive shopping, consumers’ interest in luxury vehicles has increased rapidly. According to Barar, BMW’s growth rate was 11% till August, which increased to 13% after September.

Surge in Demand for Electric Vehicles
BMW’s electric vehicle (EV) segment has also seen strong growth. The company reported a 246% year-on-year increase in EV sales. So far this year, 2,509 electric BMW and Mini cars have been sold. EVs account for 21% of total sales. The company’s best-selling EV was the BMW iX1, while the i7 came in second.
Target for the Coming Year
BMW Group India has set a target of achieving annual sales of 20,000 units by 2026. Hardeep Singh Brar says this target is achievable given the current market momentum and consumer demand.
