Rajat Patidar has been appointed the new Captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). He is a 27-year-old, right-handed top-order batter and off-spinner who has been with RCB since 2021 and has grown into a key player for the team. Andy Flower, RCB’s head coach, highlighted Patidar’s leadership quality and emphasized his strong personality as a decisive factor in his selection as a captain.
After the release of former captain Faf du Plessis, who has joined Delhi Capitals for the upcoming session, comes the appointment of Patidar. Despite the Conjecture that the former captain Virat Kohli would return to the leadership role, Patidar has been chosen to lead the team.
Patidar will be leading a strong squad, including the likes of Glen Maxwell, Virat Kohli, and Mohammed Siraj, and RCB’s fans are also very excited and hopeful that his capacity will bring the much-awaited IPL title to RCB.
